A deadline of May 31, 2008, has been set for pre-registration and submission of abstracts of papers already accepted for presentation at the ISA Forum in order
to be included in the print abstracts booklet to be distributed at the Barcelona conference

Abstracts of papers accepted for presentation submitted here after May 31, 2008, and up to October 8, 2008, will be included in a subsequent online update of
the CSA Sociological Abstracts database.

We also encourage participants to make their complete papers available to SA's vast user audience through our document delivery service, Sociology*Express. To do so, simply send a hard copy of the complete paper, noting that the abstract has been submitted electronically, to:

If a participant does supply a complete paper to Sociological Abstracts, a notation is added to the abstract with instructions on how to order the paper through our document delivery service. ABSTRACTING INSTRUCTIONS

Please make your abstract concise (100-200 words), but also informative, providing a succinct summary of the paper's focus.

In the case of a paper based on empirical research, please include in your abstract: (1) a statement of the premise, hypothesis, or subject of the study; (2) a description of the supporting data, including the relevant subject population characteristics, methods used to obtain the data, and processes of analysis; and (3) a brief report of the findings or conclusions.

An abstract of a discursive or theoretical paper should include: (1) a statement of the premise or subject, followed by (2) a step-by-step outline of the author's reasoning, and (3) any conclusions reached. Please provide full citation information for referenced works, and do not use any abbreviations.
