CSA and ProQuest are partnering in the distribution of full-text products specifically designed to match the Core and Priority Journals covered by CSA Sociological Abstracts and CSA Social Services Abstracts. The superior linking capabilities of CSA Illumina have long provided researchers with access to the full-text holdings of their host institutions via the authoritative CSA abstracting and indexing databases. The ProQuest full-text packages extend this capability by providing guaranteed access to high-quality full-text in the social sciences.
At launch, CSA Sociological Abstracts/CSA Social Services Abstracts with ProQuest Full-Text provides full-text access to 140 full-text titles.
• Only 15 have embargoes for periods of one year or less.
• 88% (124 titles) are refereed.
• Includes 88 of the 129 ISI rated journals in sociology and social work
• Deep archive dating as far back as the 1920s for some titles.
Bibliographic metadata of ProQuest content that predates CSA Sociological Abstracts’ coverage of the title has been incorporated into the database. These records and the corresponding full-text are available at launch and will be indexed with vocabulary from the Thesaurus of Sociological Indexing Terms by spring 2007. Additional content and titles will also be made available within this time period.
