    Ostroumov, VA

    J. ICHTHYOL.; VOPR. IKHTIOL., vol. 37, no. 1, pp. 103-109; vol. 37, no. 1, pp. 112-119, Feb 1997

The role of sex pheromones in the regulation of fish reproductive behavior was discussed based on the author's data and literature data. The value of the olfactory system in reception of preovulatory and postovulatory sex pheromones, their species specificity, pheromone primer and releaser activities, chemical nature, and relationships between the pheromonal and hormonal systems in fish were analyzed.
